What I do
Over nine years I have shipped products where being wrong is expensive: federal government at 25.3 million users, healthcare under HIPAA, fintech under GDPR and German tax law, heavy industry under ISO 9001:2015, and insurance under SOC 2 and ISO 27001. My work sits at the intersection of design craft, AI implementation and production code — products that feel effortless while carrying real regulatory and commercial weight.
I am not a designer who talks about strategy, and not a manager who delegates the craft. I am the operator who does the work and owns the outcome. I have built design functions from zero and led cross-functional teams, but the through-line is that I stay on the tools.
How I work
Prototype-first. Figma for direction, code for validation — concept to testable prototype in about four hours. A working prototype settles an argument that a static mock only prolongs, and it puts something real in front of a user weeks earlier than a specification would.
Research is not a separate phase I hand off. At Emesent I built research operations from zero and synthesised more than 3,000 data points into five customer mindsets that now drive roadmap decisions. The same instinct applies to AI work: I design the surface and ship the implementation rather than producing a spec for someone else to interpret.
Where I have done it
Currently Senior Product Designer and Product Design Lead at Emesent, an autonomous mapping and robotics company, working across cloud software and underground mining safety. Before that: an AI digital advisor taken from proof of concept to production for 4.5 million users, tax software at Taxfix, healthcare data visualisation, and a venture-backed analytics product through thirteen pivots.
What I am looking for
